A Swingin' Session with Duke Robillard, is an album for everyone, blues lovers or jazz fans. It is joyful, timeless music. Duke Robillard presides like a great chef, adding a touch of seasoning here, a little extra heat there. Duke Robillard is a legend and he has been nominated for a Grammy, won four W.C. Handy awards for Blues Guitarist of the Year, recorded with the likes of Bob Dylan, and the Blind Boys of Alabama, plus in 2007 he was the guitarist for Tom Waits tour. The players on a Swingin' Session are Scott Hamilton, Doug James, Mark Teixera, Sax Gordon, Bruce Katz and Marty Ballou, all major players in the jazz / blues scene and many are bandleaders themselves. Duke Robillard founded Roomful of Blues in 1967 and he was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. He still tours constantly and performs up to 250 dates a year.
